Ordinarily, our terms and conditions include, as you would expect, a cancellation fee if you cancel a confirmed booking. These fees are set out in our terms and conditions, which are sent to you when you apply to make a booking.
However, we do recognise that Covid-19 can cause unforeseen difficulties that are outside your control, or ours.
We will not charge a cancellation fee if you have to cancel as a direct result of a Covid-19 infection affecting you, your household, or other members of your party, or as a direct result of Government restrictions precluding you or other members of your party from travelling to Italy at the relevant time, or your home state imposing significant quarantine restrictions which would impact you on return, or restrictions in Italy which would have such a severe impact on your holiday as to fundamentally undermine the entire purpose of the booking. We can also, if preferred, transfer your booking to a later date (subject to availability and to payment of any difference in the applicable rate of rental for your replacement booking).
If we have to cancel a booking because of a Covid-19 infection affecting us, our staff or guests, or applicable Government restrictions, we will, likewise, have no liability to you beyond refunding any monies you have paid.
There are, and most probably there will continue to be for some time to come, some Covid-19 related changes to daily life in Italy, which tourists, as well as locals will need to adapt to. These may at times include (for example) rules on wearing masks, temporary curfews and some limits on the opening of restaurants, museums and galleries or other cultural sites.
